伯20:1 拿瑪人瑣法回答說、
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
伯20:2 我心中急躁、所以我的思念叫我回答。
Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
伯20:3 我已聽見那羞辱我責備我的話．我的悟性叫我回答。
I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
伯20:4 你豈不知亙古以來、自從人生在地、
Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
伯20:5 惡人誇勝是暫時的、不敬虔人的喜樂不過轉眼之間麼。
That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
伯20:6 他的尊榮雖達到天上、頭雖頂到雲中．
Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
伯20:7 他終必滅亡、像自己的糞一樣．素來見他的人要說、他在那裡呢。
Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
伯20:8 他必飛去如夢、不再尋見．速被趕去如夜間的異象。
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
伯20:9 親眼見過他的、必不再見他．他的本處、也再見不著他。
The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
伯20:10 他的兒女要求窮人的恩、他的手要賠還不義之財。
His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
伯20:11 他的骨頭雖然有青年之力、卻要和他一同躺臥在塵土中。
His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
伯20:12 他口內雖以惡為甘甜、藏在舌頭底下、
Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
伯20:13 愛戀不捨、含在口中．
Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
伯20:14 他的食物在肚裡、卻要化為酸、在他裡面成為虺蛇的惡毒。
Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
伯20:15 他吞了財寶、還要吐出． 神要從他腹中掏出來。
He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
伯20:16 他必吸飲虺蛇的毒氣．蝮蛇的舌頭也必殺他。
He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
伯20:17 流奶與蜜之河、他不得再見。
He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
伯20:18 他勞碌得來的要賠還、不得享用．〔原文作吞下〕不能照所得的財貨歡樂。
That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
伯20:19 他欺壓窮人、且又離棄．強取非自己所蓋的房屋。〔或作強取房屋不得再建造〕
Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
伯20:20 他因貪而無厭、所喜悅的連一樣也不能保守。
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
伯20:21 其餘的、沒有一樣他不吞滅．所以他的福樂不能長久。
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
伯20:22 他在滿足有餘的時候、必到狹窄的地步．凡受苦楚的人、都必加手在他身上。
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
伯20:23 他正要充滿肚腹的時候、 神必將猛烈的忿怒降在他身上、正在他喫飯的時候、要將這忿怒像雨降在他身上。
When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
伯20:24 他要躲避鐵器、銅弓的箭要將他射透。
He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
伯20:25 他把箭一抽、就從他身上出來．發光的箭頭、從他膽中出來．有驚惶臨在他身上。
It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
伯20:26 他的財寶歸於黑暗．人所不吹的火、要把他燒滅、要把他帳棚中所剩下的燒燬。
All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
伯20:27 天要顯明他的罪孽、地要興起攻擊他。
The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
伯20:28 他的家產必然過去． 神發怒的日子、他的貨物都要消滅。
The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
伯20:29 這是惡人從 神所得的分、是 神為他所定的產業。
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
