 珥1:1 耶和華的話臨到毘土珥的兒子約珥。
  The word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
 珥1:2 老年人哪、當聽我的話．國中的居民哪、都要側耳而聽．在你們的日子、或你們列祖的日子、曾有這樣的事麼。
  Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
 珥1:3 你們要將這事傳與子、子傳與孫、孫傳與後代。
  Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
 珥1:4 剪蟲剩下的、蝗蟲來喫．蝗蟲剩下的、蝻子來喫．蝻子剩下的、螞蚱來喫。
  That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
 珥1:5 酒醉的人哪、要清醒哭泣．好酒的人哪、都要為甜酒哀號．因為從你們的口中斷絕了。
  Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
 珥1:6 有一隊蝗蟲〔原文是民〕又強盛、又無數、侵犯我的地．牠的牙齒如獅子的牙齒、大牙如母獅的大牙。
  For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
 珥1:7 牠毀壞我的葡萄樹、剝了我無花果樹的皮、剝盡而丟棄、使枝條露白。
  He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
 珥1:8 我的民哪、你當哀號、像處女腰束麻布、為幼年的丈夫哀號。
  Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
 珥1:9 素祭和奠祭從耶和華的殿中斷絕．事奉耶和華的祭司都悲哀。
  The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the Lord; the priests, the Lord's ministers, mourn.
 珥1:10 田荒涼、地悲哀．因為五穀毀壞、新酒乾竭、油也缺乏。
  The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
 珥1:11 農夫阿、你們要慚愧、修理葡萄園的阿、你們要哀號、因為大麥小麥與田間的莊稼都滅絕了。
  Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
 珥1:12 葡萄樹枯乾、無花果樹衰殘。石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹、連田野一切的樹木也都枯乾．眾人的喜樂盡都消滅。
  The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
 珥1:13 祭司阿、你們當腰束麻布痛哭．伺候祭壇的阿、你們要哀號．事奉我　神的阿、你們要來披上麻布過夜．因為素祭、和奠祭、從你們　神的殿中斷絕了。
  Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
 珥1:14 你們要分定禁食的日子、宣告嚴肅會、招聚長老、和國中的一切居民、到耶和華你們　神的殿、向耶和華哀求。
  Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,
 珥1:15 哀哉、耶和華的日子臨近了．這日來到、好像毀滅從全能者來到。
  Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
 珥1:16 糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了麼．歡喜快樂不是從我們　神的殿中止息了麼。
  Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
 珥1:17 穀種在土塊下朽爛．倉也荒涼、廩也破壞．因為五穀枯乾了。
  The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
 珥1:18 牲畜哀鳴、牛群混亂、因為無草．羊群也受了困苦。
  How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
 珥1:19 耶和華阿、我向你求告．因為火燒滅曠野的草場、火焰燒盡田野的樹木．
  O Lord, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
 珥1:20 田野的走獸向你發喘．因為溪水乾涸、火也燒滅曠野的草場。
  The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
