帖前5:1 弟兄們、論到時候日期、不用寫信給你們．
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
帖前5:2 因為你們自己明明曉得、主的日子來到、好像夜間的賊一樣。
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
帖前5:3 人正說平安穩妥的時候、災禍忽然臨到他們、如同產難臨到懷胎的婦人一樣．他們絕不能逃脫。
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
帖前5:4 弟兄們、你們卻不在黑暗裡、叫那日子臨到你們像賊一樣。
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
帖前5:5 你們都是光明之子、都是白晝之子、我們不是屬黑夜的、也不是屬幽暗的．
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
帖前5:6 所以我們不要睡覺、像別人一樣、總要儆醒謹守。
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
帖前5:7 因為睡了的人是在夜間睡．醉了的人是在夜間醉．
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
帖前5:8 但我們既然屬乎白晝、就應當謹守、把信和愛當作護心鏡遮胸．把得救的盼望當作頭盔戴上。
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
帖前5:9 因為 神不是豫定我們受刑、乃是豫定我們藉著我們主耶穌基督得救．
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
帖前5:10 他替我們死、叫我們無論醒著睡著、都與他同活。
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
帖前5:11 所以你們該彼此勸慰、互相建立、正如你們素常所行的。
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
帖前5:12 弟兄們、我們勸你們敬重那在你們中間勞苦的人、就是在主裡面治理你們、勸戒你們的．
And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
帖前5:13 又因他們所作的工、用愛心格外尊重他們．你們也要彼此和睦。
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
帖前5:14 我們又勸弟兄們、要警戒不守規矩的人．勉勵灰心的人．扶助軟弱的人．也要向眾人忍耐。
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
帖前5:15 你們要謹慎、無論是誰都不可以惡報惡．或是彼此相待、或是待眾人、常要追求良善。
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
帖前5:16 要常常喜樂．
Rejoice evermore.
帖前5:17 不住的禱告．
Pray without ceasing.
帖前5:18 凡事謝恩．因為這是 神在基督耶穌裡向你們所定的旨意。
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
帖前5:19 不要消滅聖靈的感動．
Quench not the Spirit.
帖前5:20 不要藐視先知的講論．
Despise not prophesyings.
帖前5:21 但要凡事察驗．善美的要持守。
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
帖前5:22 各樣的惡事要禁戒不作。
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
帖前5:23 願賜平安的 神、親自使你們全然成聖．又願你們的靈、與魂、與身子、得蒙保守、在我主耶穌基督降臨的時候、完全無可指摘。
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
帖前5:24 那召你們的本是信實的、他必成就這事。
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
帖前5:25 請弟兄們為我們禱告。
Brethren, pray for us.
帖前5:26 與眾弟兄親嘴問安務要聖潔。
Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
帖前5:27 我指著主囑咐你們、要把這信念給眾弟兄聽。
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
帖前5:28 願我主耶穌基督的恩常與你們同在。
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
