 伯35:1 以利戶又說、
  Elihu spake moreover, and said,
 伯35:2 你以為有理、或以為你的公義勝於　神的公義、
  Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
 伯35:3 纔說、這與我有甚麼益處．我不犯罪比犯罪有甚麼好處呢。
  For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
 伯35:4 我要回答你、和在你這裡的朋友。
  I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
 伯35:5 你要向天觀看、瞻望那高於你的穹蒼。
  Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
 伯35:6 你若犯罪、能使　神受何害呢．你的過犯加增、能使　神受何損呢。
  If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
 伯35:7 你若是公義、還能加增他甚麼呢．他從你手裡還接受甚麼呢。
  If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
 伯35:8 你的過惡或能害你這類的人．你的公義或能叫世人得益處。
  Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
 伯35:9 人因多受欺壓就哀求．因受能者的轄制〔轄制原文作膀臂〕便求救、
  By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
 伯35:10 卻無人說、造我的　神在那裡．他使人夜間歌唱。
  But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
 伯35:11 教訓我們勝於地上的走獸、使我們有聰明勝於空中的飛鳥。
  Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
 伯35:12 他們在那裡、因惡人的驕傲呼求、卻無人答應。
  There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
 伯35:13 虛妄的呼求、　神必不垂聽、全能者也必不眷顧。
  Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
 伯35:14 何況你說、你不得見他、你的案件在他面前、你等候他罷。
  Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
 伯35:15 但如今因他未曾發怒降罰、也不甚理會狂傲．
  But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
 伯35:16 所以約伯開口說虛妄的話、多發無知識的言語。
  Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
