箴19:1 行為純正的貧窮人、勝過乖謬愚妄的富足人。
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
箴19:2 心無知識的、乃為不善．腳步急快的、難免犯罪。
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
箴19:3 人的愚昧、傾敗他的道．他的心也抱怨耶和華。
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.
箴19:4 財物使朋友增多．但窮人朋友遠離。
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
箴19:5 作假見證的、必不免受罰．吐出謊言的、終不能逃脫。
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
箴19:6 好施散的、有多人求他的恩情．愛送禮的、人都為他的朋友。
Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
箴19:7 貧窮人弟兄都恨他．何況他的朋友、更遠離他．他用言語追隨、他們卻走了。
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
箴19:8 得著智慧的、愛惜生命、保守聰明的、必得好處。
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
箴19:9 作假見證的、不免受罰．吐出謊言的、也必滅亡。
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
箴19:10 愚昧人宴樂度日、是不合宜的．何況僕人管轄王子呢。
Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
箴19:11 人有見識、就不輕易發怒．寬恕人的過失、便是自己的榮耀。
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
箴19:12 王的忿怒、好像獅子吼叫．他的恩典、卻如草上的甘露。
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
箴19:13 愚昧的兒子、是父親的禍患．妻子的爭吵、如雨連連滴漏。
A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
箴19:14 房屋錢財、是祖宗所遺留的．惟有賢慧的妻、是耶和華所賜的。
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers and a prudent wife is from the Lord.
箴19:15 懶惰使人沉睡．懈怠的人、必受飢餓。
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
箴19:16 謹守誡命的、保全生命．輕忽己路的、必致死亡。
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
箴19:17 憐憫貧窮的、就是借給耶和華．他的善行、耶和華必償還。
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
箴19:18 趁有指望、管教你的兒子．你的心不可任他死亡。
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
箴19:19 暴怒的人、必受刑罰．你若救他、必須再救。
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
箴19:20 你要聽勸教、受訓誨、使你終久有智慧。
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
箴19:21 人心多有計謀．惟有耶和華的籌算、纔能立定。
There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.
箴19:22 施行仁慈的、令人愛慕．窮人強如說謊言的。
The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
箴19:23 敬畏耶和華的、得著生命．他必恆久知足、不遭禍患。
The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
箴19:24 懶惰人放手在盤子裡．就是向口撤回、他也不肯。
A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
箴19:25 鞭打褻慢人、愚蒙人必長見識．責備明哲人、他就明白知識。
Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
箴19:26 虐待父親、攆出母親的、是貽羞致辱之子。
He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
箴19:27 我兒、不可聽了教訓、而又偏離知識的言語。
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
箴19:28 匪徒作見證戲笑公平．惡人的口吞下罪孽。
An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
箴19:29 刑罰是為褻慢人豫備的．鞭打是為愚昧人的背豫備的。
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
